Seasonality and Shire Chefs. They were born to go hand-in-hand.
Seasonality of foods has always formed the base from which our menus have been created, but even more so now than ever. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure we can make our menus attractive to our guests and provide the best locally sourced and freshest ingredients possible.
Winter is well and truly with us, marked by the darker nights and falling temperatures. As our mood and tastes change – so do our menus. These include comforting winter warmers which can be enjoyed sat in front of our signature log fires with a great glass of wine.
Some of these dishes have been firm favourites on our menus over the years - look out for the baked fig and red onion tarte tatin and the warm pigeon breast with blackberries. Personally I’d recommend the venison sausage or the blade of beef with bubble and squeak. And if you can manage a pudding, Bramley apple crumble or sticky toffee pudding.
Whatever you choose we hope you enjoy your stay with us.
